Board seeks candidates for interim appointment to fill Chickahominy District seat

Chickahominy District Supervisor Angela Kelly-Wiecek has announced that she is resigning from the Board of Supervisors effective Friday, Oct. 6.


Ms. Kelly-Wiecek has served Hanover County for twelve years. We wish her the very best.


The Board is seeking an interim representative to serve the remainder of her term. To be considered, a nominee must be a registered voter residing in the Chickahominy District and meet state qualifications to hold public office.  


Interested candidates should submit their names by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4 here.

 Governor appoints South Anna District Supervisor to State Board

Governor Glenn Youngkin has appointed South Anna District Supervisor Susan P. Dibble to the Virginia Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers and Landscape Architects.


If you didn’t know, Ms. Dibble has a degree in landscape architecture along with extensive experience in design, construction and business management.

Section of Hickory Hill Road closed

A section of Hickory Hill Road will be closed from Oct. 5 at 8 a.m. through Oct. 13 at 5 p.m. for a full road reclamation project.


The closure will be located approximately 1 mile west of Route 54 (East Patrick Henry Road) to the Wickham Railroad Crossing.

General Services Deputy Director retires after 35 years in government

Don Lee is retiring as Deputy Director of General Services. It’s been an interesting career progression for a man who started out as a custodian 35 years ago.


“My dad always told me never settle,” Don recalls. “I didn’t.”


He joined Team Hanover in 2015 and was promoted to Deputy Director in 2020. We appreciate Don's service to our residents and wish him the very best!

Observed each October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month showcases supportive, inclusive employment policies and practices that benefit employers and employees.


Join our Community Services Board in recognizing the employment adventure at their 29th Annual Blue and White Gala. It has been another year of successful employment for individuals with disabilities in Hanover and we want to celebrate with you!

Early voting available at County Complex

Visit the Voter Registration and Elections Office in the Wickham Building, 7497 County Complex Road, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to cast your ballot.


The Early Voting Center will also be open Saturday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
