Guided by the belief that music is pivotal to community engagement, the SFSO brings vibrancy, innovation, and strengthens public commitment to the arts. FAB has proudly supported SFSO since 2016. Thank you Jacqueline and Sebrina for all that you do for our arts community.

be the spark campaign: $3,000,000 goal in 5 years

What a milestone year it has been for FAB. Last October, at FAB's 20th Anniversary kickoff event, FAB launched its very first campaign called “Be the SPARK!" and announced the lead gift of $750,000 from Francie Bishop Good and David Horvitz. We are thrilled to announce that we have raised over $1.9 million, with 79 FAB members contributing to this incredible cause.

We thank all of you who have donated to the campaign in the last 11 months. Because of you, in the first 9 months, FAB added $130,000 to the 2024 grant pool, seeded $125,000 for the New Grant Category, and opened an endowment at the Community Foundation of Broward with $200,000. The campaign also placed FAB in a position to invest in our own capacity building initiatives and on September 5th, Itzel Avila joined FAB as our second employee. Let's keep the momentum going and be the SPARK that lights up the arts in Broward!

Become a FAB SPARK! and help us reach our $3 million goal. There are multiple ways to give. You may make an additional gift to the campaign with your annual renewal, sign a pledge to contribute a certain amount each year, or request a recurring payment program by credit card, Zelle, or by check. Feel free to connect with us by email using the contact information below.

We will preview the program year ahead and celebrate the success of the campaign's first year at FAB 's season opener, generously sponsored by Northern Trust, on October 17th. Invitations will be emailed soon. We look forward to seeing you soon.

new grant category task force

The "Be the Spark" campaign launched by FAB last October has set to utilize the proceeds into three major categories. One of these categories is the establishment of a new, one-time, multi-year grant category for arts impact organizations. To determine the new grant category, a FAB Special Task Force comprising 10 FAB members and community partners was established in May of this year.

The Task Force has been conducting one-hour interviews with almost 40 different organizations/individuals who have an arts impact. The interviews started in June and which started in will conclude later this month. The objective of the Task Force is to present a recommendation for a new grant to the FAB Board in November, based on the information gathered from all the interviews. Additionally, this month, the Task Force is sending out a survey to all FAB grantees and Arts & Cultural Organizations in Broward to gather information regarding their needs and concerns. A final report of all the work undertaken by the Task Force will be published by the end of this year. Stay tuned for more updates on how the "Be the Spark" campaign is making a positive impact on the arts community.
