FAB is moving full steam ahead into its 20th year with a remarkably busy summer of planning and work underway on several fronts. Grants, Membership, and Program Chairs, and staff are engaged and working together to enhance features of membership, expand programming options, and recruit screeners for the next grant cycle. FAB’s leadership continues its focused path to fully funding the $3 million SPARK campaign goal, strengthening our ties with grantees, and doing outreach in the community.
I continued to be "wowed” by the dedication and ideas coming from our FAB board and our members. Thanks to all who are teaching me something new every day. Most intriguing is the New Works Task Force that our immediate past president and board member Ed Hashek is leading. He has assembled a talented and diverse group of 10 volunteer leaders. The task force is working through an ambitious agenda to interview up to 50 leaders in arts organizations, donors, business and public sector groups, foundations and national arts leaders to explore how FAB can have an even greater impact on the future of arts and culture in Broward County. Details on this initiative will follow in the next edition of the FAB Scene at the end of August.
We have planned new, accessible, and innovative programming for FAB members this year, including “But for FAB” exclusive events. Be on the lookout for your bookmark with a full line up of FAB Fun.
Mark your calendar now for the FAB Season Kick Off on October 17th hosted by Northern Trust. On behalf of all of us on the FAB board, thank you for your continuing support and we look forward to toasting at our opening reception.
