Early voting under way for November 5 election
Early voting for the November 5 election runs until Friday, November 1. Ten proposed constitutional amendments are on the ballot statewide. Texas REALTORS® has endorsed three of the statewide propositions because of their benefits for real estate consumers and property owners:
- Proposition 2, which supports water infrastructure;
- Proposition 3, which provides a temporary property tax exemption to owners in areas declared disasters; and,
- Proposition 8, which provides funding for flood mitigation infrastructure.
The association has not taken a position on the other seven proposed amendments.

Membership:
2020 Membership Dues were sent out in October.
While MLS is paid quarterly, dues (for NAR, TAR and GLAR) are
paid annually in advance of the beginning of the year.
Watch your email for your invoice.
GMAIL USERS
: Gmail may filter the invoice into junk mail or spam, or pre-sort to another inbox tab. Be sure to add [email protected] to your contacts to increase deliverability.
Remember, those joining in the last quarter will pay the amount due until the end of the year when membership is set up
and ALSO be billed for 2020 separately until December, when 2020 dues will be payable at the time of application.

New Year = New Technology!
Have you heard of the XpressKEY?
It’s the newest handheld key from Supra and it will replace the ActiveKEY.
If you currently use the eKEY app on your phone, you do
NOT
have to switch. If you are currently using the ActiveKEY, we will begin exchanging them for the XpressKEY in the new year.
You will have the option of switching to the new XpressKEY
or
the eKEY app on your phone.
The intuitive design of this device embodies all the functionality of its predecessor, the ActiveKEY, and more. The XpressKEY has a host of new features, including:
- A durable touch screen
- A long-lasting battery that can be charged via a universal Micro USB
- The ability to change your PIN
- A GPS locator embedded in the device that generates an End of Showing Report in SupraWEB
- The potential to utilize the Keybox Assistant to automatically assign listings to keyboxes via GPS signal
- A handy-dandy utility flashlight
Much like the ActiveKEY, the XpressKEY utilizes infrared technology to communicate with keyboxes. Unlike the old key, however, this new device will use 4G service to communicate with cellphone towers. This greatly increases the reliability of the key when it comes to downloading updates and uploading keybox data to the Supra network.
