6th Annual REALTOR-LEGISLATOR Breakfast
on Thursday, October 3, 9am-10:30am at GLAR. U.S Congressman Michael Burgess, Senators Jane Nelson and Pat Fallon, and State Representatives Tan Parker, Lynn Stucky, Jared Patterson, and Michelle Beckley will share with us about the "state of the state", and Moderator/REALTOR Brooke Hunt will be sharing our concerns with them on REALTOR and Homeowner issues.
Catered breakfast; no charge to attend. Open to your clients, customers, neighbors. Seating is first come-first served. This is a big line-up that you won't want to miss. Know your legislation!!
5th Annual REALTORS Back the Responders
on Friday, October 25,11:30am-1:00pm at Garden Ridge Church of Christ on Garden Ridge & Cross Timbers (center of town). First Responders from LV, HV, FM, Bartonville, and Double Oak are invited as our guests for lunch. Members pay $8 for "REALTORS Back the Responders" tshirt, plus lunch.

Just as a way to know WHO you're dealing with at GLAR, we are also going to be telling a bit about our staff members....
Karen Loyd
would be considered our newest staff member, even though she has just completed her first year! She's a WINNER!! Karen grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas, graduating from University of Central Arkansas (UCA) with a BSE (Bachelor of Science in Education), with minors in psychology, special ed, and counseling. Karen taught 1st and 2nd grades for 30 years in Arkansas and Flower Mound.
She was the perfect blend of friendliness and commitment to education to take over as GLAR Education and Social Media Coordinator. You will usually see her in "everybody's faces" with her camera!! That is for a purpose. She has been doing a bang-up job of keeping our Facebook pages lively! Karen also is bringing excellent courses/classes for our Members to be the most prepared REALTORS® out there. Stop by and say hello to Karen if you haven't already had the pleasure of meeting her.

Membership:
The
new agent membership process has 5 steps
- License must be shown as active under broker
- Application is made online
- GLAR sets up record
- NAR Code of Ethics must be completed to get MLS
- Complete the MLS video course and quiz
Transferring agents should:
- Check with their current Association for their required documentation of transfer
- The Associations will request/send a Letter of Good Standing directly between one another. Agents do not need to request directly.
- Verify TREC shows them under the new broker
- Complete any/all membership applications required by new Association
- Verify where key service will kept
MLS Tip for September:
CAUTION!
- Check your list date before you make your listing "live". Only NTREIS can make a change to the date and it depends totally on the information in our listing agreement.
- All price changes made while the listing is in Coming Soon Status will show as a price change, displaying the difference between original list price and current list price immediately and when you change to Active. This cannot be corrected and your seller should lock in on a list price before placing in MLS under any status. Coming Soon should not be considered a 'test' of the market.

will cease. We want to get ahead of this before our members start experiencing problems!
