VITA Free Tax Preparation

United Way of Collier and the Keys is offering FREE tax preparation for Monroe County residents with household income under $57,000. Due to the pandemic, the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program will assist clients remotely in 2021.

Why We Do What We Do...

Recently, two schools sent us thank you notes for items provided through our Stuff the Bus initiative...but we know it is all due to the generosity of our community!

"We are so excited to have the student bike desks for our more tactile learners! We also ordered water bottles and headphones that have been in high demand with all the new covid restrictions and safety measures we’re taking. Thank you guys for continuing to help us provide these types of supplies for our students!"

Through UWCK's partnership with the City of Key West, we have been able to provide emergency assistance to local residents struggling financially due to the pandemic. A Key West mother recently emailed letting us know what a difference this made for her family.

"I would like to thank the Staff. I appreciate the big help with my light bill, and I got the Publix gift [card] for $100 to buy groceries. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I really, really, appreciate it all. You are the best!! Thank You!! Thank You!!"

Enrollment in the Upper Keys

Community Resource Guide Updated to Include COVID-19 Information...now available in 3 Languages!

The new year brought a new and improved edition of the comprehensive Monroe County Community Resource Guide (CRG) compiled by United Way of Collier and the Keys.

Most exciting is that the PDF version is now available in English, Spanish and Creole! This reduces a language barrier for Keys residents needing assistance but with limited English proficiency.
