Thanks to our Becoming Beloved Community Team we are submitting a 2020 Reconciliation Grant for activities in preparation for for a major city-wide event on Pentecost Sunday, 2021. Becoming Beloved Community Team members include Rev. Dr. Rodney Williams, Rev. Mindy Fugarino, Rev. James Vertreese, Rev. Kimi Yokoyama, Rev. Laurie Anderson, Rev. Dr. Robert Hill, Rev. Sheryl Tucker, and Rev. Trish Winters. All of them are investing significant time and energy and their efforts will soon be evident in the line up of activities planned for this year. Watch for a special edition report in February.

The Lilly Foundation is offering significant grants to organizations supporting congregations. We are looking to build a team of three-five people, clergy and laity, with research and grant-writing skills to work on a grant application on behalf of our Greater Kansas City Disciples congregations.

Will you help us identify them? Invite them to the gathering on February 15 (see last featured section of this newsletter)

Raytown Christian Church has boards prominently visible in the most traveled hallway with cards that hang from hooks describing ways to engage in ministries and missions. Visitors and members can pick up a card, read the description and instructions on how to join in something they already have interest in doing. Kudos RCC!
A PRAYER OF BLESSING FOR OUR NEWEST DISCIPLE COLLEAGUE
Rev. Dr. Greg Hunt receives the blessing of the congregation at First Christian Church, Bonner Springs as his standing as an ordained minister in the Christian Disciple of Christ is formally recognized. See a picture of Greg and more about him and his Central Baptist Seminary faculty profile. Reserve April 18th for a Leadership Series event at CBTS that Greg is helping to prepare. We will explore what it means to be a Christian Citizen! The timing could not be better!

Congregation Leader Gathering
This event is filling up and many clergy and lay leaders are coming with stories of hope and best practices to share. A potato bar lunch begins at noon on February 15 followed by a World-Cafe style conversation and report out that ends by 3 pm at the Merriam Christian Church. Dress is causal. There is no fee but we need you to RSVP now before we reach out limit of 60!
