THE CATS NEED YOU RIGHT MEOW!
We use petfinder to showcase our adoptable animals. Each profile is written to showcase the best aspects of each animal's personality and the pictures tug on heart strings to draw in potential adopters. As always, the shelter houses twice as many cats than dogs. Therefore, we need more willing and interested cat volunteers to join this very important team to keep up with the number of adoptable cats.
The next SAFER Training is scheduled for Sunday, February 24 at 1:00 p.m. in Alyssa's office.

VACCINE CLINIC VOLUNTEERS
We are scheduled to host three clinics each month. Typically, we need about seven volunteers to be appropriately staffed to navigate a smooth and effective vaccine clinic. We will be hosting these clinic the first three Saturdays of every month. If you have interest in supporting this important service offered by HSHA, please contact
As a general reminder to any and all clinic volunteers, please note on clinic paperwork when an owner's pet must return for a booster. This occurs most regularly with the distemper vaccine for puppies/kittens, but it is also relevant for any dog receiving the Lyme or Influenza vaccine for the first time. All of these situations require a booster in 2-4 weeks.
Do you like throwing a party? Do you find fulfillment in planning all the itty, bitty details of an event? Perhaps you are looking to take on an additional role as a volunteer for HSHA? Well, we are looking for someone that can become the party planner for our Volunteer Quarterly meetings. If this sounds like a role you are ready to fulfill, please contact me ASAP at

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
What might be trademarked as a Hallmark Card Holiday is still a perfect opportunity for us to express our sincerest thanks to the dedicated team of volunteers that provide the staff and residents at HSHA with a priceless amount of time, attention, love and care on a consistent basis. HSHA would never be a successful organization without the support of our volunteers, and that truth continues to become more evident and true everyday. So, I hope each one of you know how LOVED & VALUED you are not only on Valentine's Day, but everyday for all that you do at HSHA!
