'Still in This Together':
Celebrate Community Living Month

May is here, and that means it’s time for Community Living Month!

Community Living Month is an annual awareness campaign that recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of the Community Living Movement in supporting and advocating for people with a developmental disability to live the lives they choose in their community.

This year’s theme is “Still in This Together”, in honour of the perseverance and resilience shown by those in our movement, as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.

And over the next month, you will have the opportunity to participate on our Community Living Huntsville social media pages by sharing your best success stories and brightest moments, with a new theme each week. Find @clhuntsville on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to join in.

We look forward to celebrating #CLMonth alongside you!

And while she and others look forward to reclaiming their hard-earned community connection as the COVID-19 pandemic comes to an end, a Community Living Huntsville team member shares how the public health crisis has made visible the need for immediate socio-economic change -- and made clear what voices need to lead that change.
