STUDENTS CREATE 'RIVER OF KINDNESS'

Valley View Elementary School students are spreading kindness through an art project based on the book " Only One You" by Linz Kranz". In the story, a fish named Adri is given advice from his parents about how to be kind to others while being true to yourself. "There's only one you in this great big world...Make it a better place!" With that message in mind, the Valley View School community proceeded to beautify the school's entrance.

"Thanks to the District's Kindness Initiative grant, river rocks and paint/design supplies were purchased," explained Valley View Counselor Paula Perry . "The student council helped prime the rocks (coat them in white to better hold the paint). Then, parent volunteers taught students the steps in painting the rocks to look like fish. All students participated, as well as school staff, in creating a school of fish as unique as we are. The end result is a vibrant and colorful river of kindness that greets all people to our school," added Perry.
