We've been working our way through 1 John, and it's been a challenging journey. John doesn't let us get comfortable with comfortable Christianity.

We started with John's testimony that he'd seen, heard, and touched Jesus. The Word became flesh, and we can know Him.

Then we wrestled with what it means to walk in the light. John gave us three tests: Do we acknowledge our sin and confess it? Do we obey God's commands? Do we love our brothers and sisters in Christ? If we claim fellowship with God but fail these tests, we're lying to ourselves. But when we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us.

This Sunday, John gives us a pastoral pause—reminding us who we are in Christ before challenging us about where our hearts might be drifting. It's a word we all need to hear.

See you Sunday.

Are you one of our awesome volunteers but perhaps forgot when you're scheduled to serve? Here is the February 2026 Volunteer Calendar

  • My daughter has sinus surgery coming up January 26th. Pray for successful surgery and clear biopsy of cells. ~ Eddy's
  • Please continue to pray for God to touch the kids hearts, giving them a longing to know Him. Pray for those who are class clowns constantly trying to one-up each other in drawing attention away from the lesson. If they won't respond to Jesus and only keep others from hearing, may they have some other place to be and may God reach them in a way that works for them, even if it's not GNC. ~ Goodman's

WHO WE ARE...

First Christian Church The Dalles (FCC) is an independent Christian community, learning to follow Jesus together. The Bible points us to God and helps us live with faith, hope, and love. Each week we gather to worship, share communion, and encourage one another. Our mission is simple: to help people connect with Jesus, with each other, and with their purpose. Whether you’re spiritually curious or seeking to grow deeper in your faith, we believe life with God is a journey—and we would love to walk alongside you on yours.
