February 20th, 2026

Last Sunday, we talked about what real love looks like. John made it clear: love isn't just words—it's action. It's showing up with a lawn mower. It's covering someone's grocery bill. It's extending the invitation to the new person at church.

You’ve probably noticed this recurring theme of love in John’s letter, but why is love so central to the Christian life? Why does John keep hammering on this theme?

This Sunday, we're going to find the answer. John is going to tell that God is love. Not just that God loves, but that love is at the very core of who God is. It’s His nature. And when we understand that truth, it should change how we love others.

If you've ever wondered what it really means that "God is love," this Sunday is for you.

Thank you to all those "SOUP MAKERS" that shared their cooking talents with us last Sunday for our SOUPer Bowl Sunday Fellowship time. We had such a variety of yummy soups for all to enjoy, and appreciate those that volunteered to bring the soup, bread, and desserts.

It was great fun to hear the "Facts and Fictions" that our leadership at FCC shared with us, and thank you to all our leaders that give faithfully to our church body!!  We appreciate all of you that helped with the clean-up as well. We are blessed to have such wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ.

WHO WE ARE...

First Christian Church The Dalles (FCC) is an independent Christian community, learning to follow Jesus together. The Bible points us to God and helps us live with faith, hope, and love. Each week we gather to worship, share communion, and encourage one another. Our mission is simple: to help people connect with Jesus, with each other, and with their purpose.
