Hi Hope Ames!
I'm excited to preach this weekend! Here's a preview of where we're talking about in the third weekend of our #MiracleMarch series...
In Mark 5, a man named Jairus pleads with Jesus...
"My little daughter is dying," he said. "Please come and lay your hands on her; heal her so she can live" (Mark 5:23).
Jairus doesn't try to bribe Jesus, nor does he negotiate. He just pleads. He asks Jesus for help, and Jesus goes to give it.
But Jairus and Jesus don't make it very far before hearing, "Your daughter is dead. There's no use troubling the Teacher now" (Mark 5:35).
Are you ready for this? Hold on. Just when it seems like the story is over, Jesus takes the pen.
"But Jesus overheard them and said to Jairus, "Don't be afraid. Just have faith"" (Mark 5:36).
That word "overheard," can also be translated as "ignored," and I love it.
It's so important to remember who is in control. Let him give you the confidence to ignore the voices that say it's too late.
Jesus says to Jairus, "Don't be afraid. Just have faith" (Mark 5:36).
Now Jesus is pleading, "Trust me."
For more (and there's so much more), come to worship on Sunday morning at 10:00 in the Ames City Auditorium!
P.S. I mentioned in last week's e-newsletter that we're in need of HopeKids volunteers. It's an awesome problem to have because it means we're growing! Will you please consider helping lead our church's awesome kids? Thank you!

Today's Daily Devotion:
Jesus send the disciples away by boat while he prays. As they struggle rowing against the wind, Jesus walks to them on the water, climbs in & stops the wind. It's no accident big things happen when we encounter Jesus. #MiracleMarch #Mark #12BooksIn12Months
