Hello Hope Des Moines!
Spring is in the air!
Even if that means a lot of rain!
Hopefully you’ve had a chance to get outside this week and enjoy the thaw and warmer temps. Spring brings many things—Spring Break trips for some of you, melting snow, exciting basketball on television (my favorite), but still that slight possibility of snow because we live in Iowa! However,
springtime around Hope is all about the season of Lent (literally meaning springtime)
and the opportunity to prepare our hearts for Easter.
One way we’re using the season of Lent at Hope Des Moines is to
lean into the power of community.
This past Sunday, dozens of you gathered for our first night of
The Life Group Experience
. This is an open opportunity the next four weeks through April 7
for anyone wanting to go deeper with the weekend sermon in Bible study, as well as meet new people and even do a service project.
Every week is a brand new experience, so join us anytime from 6:00-7:30 pm.
Secondly, if you’ve been away from worship the past month because of the weather or travel,
I want to encourage you to join us in our
“Miracle March” series
these next few weeks. Nothing fills the soul, beats the winter blues, blesses your kids and changes your entire week like weekly worship with your church family.
We are loving these amazing stories of Jesus in the Gospel of Mark (which of course are always available the Tuesday following each weekend on
). Not to mention, if your kids find “Friendly Jesus” hiding around the church each weekend, they’ll get another punch on their card at the reception desk to turn in for a prize on Easter weekend. Learn more
Finally, as we continue to grow as a church, staff is growing as well!
We recently welcomed Katie Pearson, our new Communications Coordinator
to the team. She does a fantastic job coordinating all our print materials, banners, design, and online communications. Also,
we are still hiring for a part-time Administrative Coordinator position.
If you or someone you know might be interested,
all the information is
I can’t wait to preach on a powerful story of prayer, healing, and God’s power this weekend from
. We’ll also have a special creative activity for the entire congregation to participate in at the end of the service. You don’t want to miss it! We’ll see you Saturday at 5:00 pm or Sunday at 9:15 or 11:00 am!
P.S. It’s never too early to start putting all our Holy Week services on your calendar! Join us for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and two full days of Easter services at Hope Des Moines! All the information about these and our exciting 2019 Lent Project can be found
