Good Morning Hope!
"So now I am giving you a new commandment:
Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.
Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
Aren’t you glad Jesus commanded that we should love each other the way he loves us?
Imagine if he had just made it a suggestion.
We might not have made the commitment last weekend to bring truckloads of food for hungry people. We might not have made the commitment to care for people suffering with addictions to alcohol (
every Tuesday morning
). We might not have showed up to teach the children at
HopeKids
.
We might not be deepening our prayer lives together in
The Prayer Course
. We might not be part of the team who is getting the
Daddy Daughter Dance
decorated for dads and daughters. We might not have expanded our parking lot for more people to gather at weekend worship to hear God’s life-giving word. We may not be providing
hospitality
each week at church.
We might not have shared our lives with the single parent next door. We might not have made sure the neighbor kid had new shoes for the coming season. We might not have cared for the sick and suffering. We might not have prepared the
Family Ice Fishing
event for fun coming up on Saturday, Feb. 16. We might not have prepared a
Volunteer Appreciation Lunch
on Sunday, Feb. 24 for those all who serve at church (
register here
).
We might not have made sure all women are invited be spiritually strengthened at
The Gathering
every month. We might not have started the
Men of Hope Huddle
where men can be part of Christian community. We might not offer classes almost every day for men and women so they are cared for and grow. We might not have be great small group leaders to the student of
PowerLife
and
Ignition
. We might not be people who pray every day for others. We might not have…
But through the power of the Holy Spirit we have and we will.
When I think of God witnessing his life coursing through our veins I imagine his joy to see his creation living and loving just the way he intended - keep going church - you are doing great.
This weekend at worship
you will be encouraged and challenged to continue to be the body of Christ. Because when we are – well, we love one another like he loves us.
See you at weekend worship.
