Good morning, Hope!
Spring is just five days from now! After the serious melting and rain the last few days, I can't wait for those predicted temperatures of 50+ in the coming week.
Two days ago, I was on my way to church and observed a rescue of a man caught in the water filling up Walnut Creek. I can't imagine the flood (no pun intended) of emotions the man had hanging onto that tree for dear life. But I have to believe he had faith in the first responders to not only reach him in time, but to bring him safely to shore.
As we journey through our sermon series, Gospel of Mark #MiracleMarch, you might be picking up that faith in Jesus is a big deal. It's interesting that in today's Christian walk we put such a big focus on spiritual disciplines or studies as a test to determine if a person has actual or real faith. Jesus seems not so interested in giving individuals a litmus test of what may or not be known about him. Instead it seems clear that faith saves. We'll see this again in this week's lesson found in Mark 5:35-43.
Life is always bringing new events, challenges and unexpected interruptions. How are you prepared with your faith in Jesus when things begin to bubble up that you have no control over? I encourage you to noodle on that before this weekend.
As we journey in Lent, don't miss the opportunities to connect, grow and serve:
+ 40 Days of Devotions - prepared by Hope pastors and staff.
+ Lenten Project: Hope Lives Here - Pray. Give. Serve. You can sign up to help volunteer with the building projects coming in the fall.
+ First Communion Classes - New format. One-day offerings on Thursday, March 28 or  Saturday, April 6.
+ Girl Talk Seminar: Cultivating Inner Self - Young women in grades 8-12 are invited to come hear from a variety of speakers on how God loves us through a world that tries to tear us down.

Remember God loves you!

Today's Daily Bible Reading:

Today's Daily Devotion:
Jesus send the disciples away by boat while he prays. As they struggle rowing against the wind, Jesus walks to them on the water, climbs in & stops the wind. It's no accident big things happen when we encounter Jesus. #MiracleMarch #Mark #12BooksIn12Months
