Full Homes and Full Friendships
Fall has been a time of welcoming new friendships while cherishing our lifelong friendships. In the past month, we have welcomed six new members into our Beaverton home and have celebrated by sharing a big Thanksgiving meal together at the home. We have also increased our ability to support our friends outside of our homes, such as Marilyn, who recently founded a weekly prayer group.
Welcome Home!
Say hello to the newest members of our homes and community! Brendan, Dena, Joranna, Nick, Alex, and Dara are all new members of our new home in Beaverton. Ben and Lukas are new members of Nehalem House. Be sure to welcome these folks at upcoming L'Arche gatherings!
Disability: A Journey of Self Acceptance
by Becca Boston
In our latest blog post, Care Coordinator Becca Boston shares about her journey with dyslexia and the ways it has informed her relationships and role at L'Arche Portland.

"Not only did I learn about my disability, but I learned that it was important for me to have a positive outlet. I enjoyed art class and playing soccer, basketball and lacrosse for the school. With the help from all the faculty at Crossroads and my loving family, I was beginning to fully accept my learning disability, but not let it define me."
