M'korstock Unplugged
Saturday, November 7, 8:00 pm

Join us for an evening of live acoustic music and song, with Alan and Randi. The married couple performs together to present covers of various genres of music from Jazz to contemporary.

$10 per household. Registration required by 10:00 am, Friday, November 6.
Once registered, a link for the live performance will be emailed prior to the event.

Pots & Pandemic:
Chickpea Fritter Cooking Demo
Thursday, November 12, 7:00 pm

A free Zoom demonstration of chickpea fritters, a recipe in the soon-to-be-released cookbook Pots and Pandemic, will be presented by M'kor Shalom celebrity chef Adam Roth.

Registration required. Zoom login information will be sent to everyone who has registered.

You can just watch, or cook along with Adam as he mixes and measures and gives direction for making these fritters; click here for ingredients. You'll also have the opportunity to ask questions via an online chat.

Kabbalat Shabbat:
Shabbat Mishpacha & Blessing of the Pets

Our Shabbat Mishpacha (Family) Service is geared toward families of all ages. This week, we read from the Torah portion of Noah’s Ark. Holding our Shabbat and Blessing of the Pets service on Zoom allows us to have the opportunity to share in blessing many "indoor only" pets who aren’t able to be with us when our event is held outside.
Note: Stuffed animals instead of/in place of pets are more than welcome, too!

To celebrate New Member Shabbat, our Membership Committee has arranged for you to order/pick up a complete prepared dinner.

For only $18 per main entree and $13 for a kids' meal, you can enjoy a delicious Shabbat dinner. A portion of of the proceeds will go to Healing Meals and their mission to prepare homemade meals for families in need.

Choice of 4 dinners:
- Sliced Brisket of Beef
- Pasta Primavera
- Pan Seared Salmon Teriyaki
- Grilled Boneless Chicken
- Chicken Fingers and Fries

A Serious Man is a 2009 black comedy-drama film written, produced, edited and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen. Set in 1967, the film stars Michael Stuhlbarg as a Minnesota Jewish man whose life crumbles both professionally and personally, leading him to questions about his faith.

This program is free and open to all. Watch the movie in advance and join us for a lively conversation led by Irene Afek. The film is widely available; free with subscription on Netflix & Cinemax, $3.99 Amazon Prime, iTunes and YouTube.

The Spirit & Spirituality of Psalms

A continuation of our exploration of the Biblical Book of Psalms and how it speaks to our journey through life and our relationship with the Divine Presence in the world.

After just one collection, our Trex Challenge has accumulated MORE THAN HALF of our goal! We have already collected 288 of our 500-pound goal! Keep saving those plastic film and bags. M’kor Shalom will collect them on designated days each month, then weigh and deliver them to Trex. In return, we will receive a beautiful Trex bench made from recycled plastic.
