Sponsored by Achim (The Men's Group).
Saturday Night
Live Under the Stars
Saturday, July 24, 7:00 pm

Let's gather around the fire pit to enjoy Havdalah and songs led by Rabbi Frenkel, Cantor Harrison and others. Plus we'll have s'mores! Families can bring their own blankets, food/snacks.

Sponsored by Achim, Kesher Club and our Clergy.
Hotsy Totsy Gals
Sunday, August 15, 4:00 pm

The popular singing trio, the Hotsy Totsy Gals, will come to M'kor Shalom for an outdoor summer performance. Jenny Pilong, Diane Carino, and Amanda Bruzzzi are best friends who have been blending their voices into unique harmonies since 2014. Inspired by the "girl groups" of the 1940's-60's, their two albums pay tribute to those "jitterbug" sounds but with an original, contemporary twist that is both nostalgic and joyous!

Come with family and friends to hear these favorite performers and also share a delicious summer dessert – a double treat!

Cost is $18 per person, or $36 per family. Registration required; click HERE.

Our Fundraising Committee is partnering with the Membership and Music Committees in presenting this delightful appearance.
Weekday Classes

Maimonides: The man, the scholar, the doctor
Led by Rabbi Richard Address
Three Wednesdays, July 21 & 28 and August 11, 10:30 am (Zoom)
We invite you to join us in a 3-part series as we look at the career and contributions of one of the most influential personalities in Jewish history. Moses Maimonides, scholar and practicing physician, is influential to this day. Join us as we unpack some of his history, writing, beliefs, etc. Registration required; click HERE.

This is Real and You are Completely Unprepared: The Days of Awe as a Journey of Transformation, based loosely on the book by Rabbi Alan Lew
Led by Rabbi Jennifer Frenkel
Two Mondays, August 9 & 16, 10:30 am (via Zoom)
There are times in life when we are caught utterly unprepared for a situation that confronts us. And often, the High Holy Day season, which can help us process the events in our lives, sneaks up on us. In order for us to be properly prepared to do teshuvah (repentance) and start over with a new slate in the New Year, the period of cheshbon ha ne-fesh (taking an accounting of our soul, our life) must begin before we take our seats in the sanctuary or in front of our Zoom screens. In this class, we’ll begin (or continue) that process together. There is no need for participants to purchase or read the book. All texts will be shared during the class. Registration required; click HERE.

These classes are open to all. There is no cost for congregants; $10/person per session for non-members. Zoom information will be sent in advance to everyone who has registered.

Women & Spirituality Summer Book Club:
The Lost Shtetl
Thursday, August 5, 6:15 pm (Offsite at Jamiee Friedman's house)

The Lost Shtetl by Max Gross is the winner of the 2020 National Jewish Book Award, as well as the Jewish Fiction Award. What if there were a town that history missed? For decades, the tiny Jewish shtetl of Keskol existed in happy isolation, virtually untouched and unchanged. It was spared the Holocaust and the Cold War, existing in peace until a marriage dispute occurs and the whole town comes crashing into the 21st century – 80 years later.

The evening promises to have an enjoyable and educational discussion concerning modernity, identity, conformity, transformation, and the meaning of home.
We would also love to have volunteers who really enjoy making desserts.

Kindly RSVP to Sandy Fingerman by August 1.
