The COVID-19 Whirlwind Continues
|
COVID-19 has played a major role in most of our lives for the last 6+ weeks. Every day we are learning something new about this novel virus, or we are receiving updated data, or new mitigation measures, and its been quite the roller coaster.
This is our first newsletter since February, as the COVID-19 too had an impact on our operation and the need to implement new measures to ensure the safety of our employees, customers, and suppliers. We are lucky in that our business is essential and we have been able to operate through all of this, but that doesn't shield us from the potential affects this disease can have on our families. Since the early phases we have been extremely cautious and we have put certain protective measures in place.
My gut feeling is we are reaching a turning point, and I can see that glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. Whether that is temporary or not I am unsure, but we could never have reached this point with out the support of our employees, our first responders on the front lines, and the support of US manufacturers of have worked to get supplies to those who need them most.
We will no doubt face new challenges as we work through this together, but thats just it we aren't in this alone, and we will overcome this as one!

Who is Debbie Monroy? A mother, a wife, a TWC CSR?
|
Debbie Monroy celebrated 30 years working for Trans Western Chemicals this past March, and I thought it would be wonderful if we could share a little bit about her and her family in this month’s newsletter.
Deborah Delgado Monroy was born in East LA at Queen of the Angels, which is ironically the same hospital where our CEO Henry Kirsch was born. She is the tenth child of 11 siblings! Yes that’s right 11 siblings. Her dad worked for Lockheed Martin in Burbank and was fortunate enough to buy a home and lay down roots in El Monte, California. Debbie doesn’t remember off hand the exact square footage of that home but it must have been a monster to house all 11 brothers and sisters. Her dad often referred to their home in El Monte as a gold mine because it had a huge backyard as well as a music studio (converted one car garage).
Debbie grew up in a musical family, and all six of her brothers are extremely talented. You may have even heard of them, “The Delgado Brothers” are world renowned in the Blues genre. In 2016 they won 1
st
Place at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. Her brother Joey Delgado also took home the “The Albert King Award” for best guitarist. A humble group of guys, they also played at John Kirsch’s (Our VP of Operations) wedding and Gail Kirsch’s (Owner) 60
th
Birthday.
If you ask Debbie she’d tell you she has 2 Husbands, Mike (from an earlier marriage) and Kenny (her current husband of 24 years). She also has 2 sons, Eric and Danny. Her family prides themselves on being a
FUN
ctional mixed family, and they should with Kenny being a licensed family therapist. Eric her older son is 32 years old and currently works for DC Comics. He attended Cal State Fullerton where he received a degree in Radio, TV, & Film. Danny her younger son is 22 years old and he has followed in her families heritage of becoming an amazing musician and producer. His music has been featured on apple music and spotify!
Debbie has really enjoyed her
FIRST
30 years with Trans Western Chemicals, and we have enjoyed every minute she’s been part of our family.
