Introducing Read & Play Kits

It’s time to read and play! Naperville Public Library's new Read & Play Kits, intended for children under the age of five, are the perfect opportunity for adults to help children develop early literacy skills. Each themed kit features several books and toys for children to interact with. There's so many themes to choose from including bugs, construction, feelings, doctor, pets, and more!

Early literacy is what children know about reading and writing before they actually learn to read and write. The most important thing you can do to foster early literacy is to provide an atmosphere that’s fun, verbal, and stimulating. When you read, talk, and play with your child, you’re stimulating the growth of your child’s brain and building the connections that will become the building blocks for reading.

These kits will be available for pick up beginning August 23.
