Thank you for your support!
The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.
Thank you for supporting the American Red Cross blood program!

The Best Dam Run/Walk
Saturday August 24th
8 am to 1 pm

Help support emergency fuel assistance in Vermont's Deerfield Valley and have some dam fun doing it. This is a fast out-and-back 13.1 mile (half-marathon) that starts out at the Harriman Dam and mostly follows the old Hoot, Toot & Whistle rail bed along the west side of Harriman Reservoir, the largest body of water entirely within Vermont's borders. The shores of this scenic lake are undeveloped and unbroken. Amazing views abound, especially as you cross the 215 foot high and 1250 foot long dam. Both runners and walkers are welcome!

Hops For Hope 5K is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society of Vermont so we can provide the resources cancer survivors, caregivers and their communities rely on. It's not how fast you go, it's the difference you make. This event is a run/walk open to all skill levels to participate as an individual or a team.

We are grateful for the support of volunteers, donors, racers and sponsors to make this event possible each year!

Did You Know?

One of the Wilmington Trail Committee members, Alan Baker, has made some wonderful additions and enhancements this summer to the existing "Trails and Hiking" page accessible via the Wilmington Town Website.  I wanted to let you and all Chamber staff know about the additional information and resources.

1) the WTC claimed the domain name:   wilmingtontrails.org
Using that link takes the user directly to the new and improved "Trails" page.  One can still arrive at that page via  wilmingtonvt.us -> About -> Trails and Hiking -> "New trails page is here".   But, doing so requires several extra steps.

2) the new "trails" page categorizes maps, trails, and hikes.  There are several types of downloadable maps, both static and GPS-enabled.  The latter uses apps and allows users to track their location while hiking a trail-a wonderful tool!

3) Under the trail section, hikers can read a description of each trail and get a sense of the length, difficulty, surrounding features, parking availability, and other related details.

4) Loops and hikes:  a walkable loop is appealing and some suggested routes are listed for consideration.
