Call for Community Volunteers This Morning


Starting this morning in Palmetto Bay, we will be hosting quarterly projects that will allow us to serve together as a community and assist those in the Village who need a helping hand. Please join us for our first "Serve with the Mayor" project. We will be working to assist a local veteran with yard clean up and maintenance at his home. Also today, we will join together for a "Street-by-Street" initiative, painting and repairing fences on 184th Street. We'll meet at the same location for both projects, 184th Street an 92nd Avenue. We'll be prepping the fence area at 8 am, and we welcome more volunteers at 10:30 am through about 1:00. We'd love for you to join us. Have tools? Bring them! Thank you.

Memorial Celebration at Deering Estate
On Saturday, May 25th, Palmetto Bay residents will receive FREE admission to a Memorial Day weekend celebration on the grounds of Deering Estate. There will be a military parade, scavenger hunt, live bands and DJ, giant board games, tours, vendors and more. The event is from 10 am to 4 pm. ID required.

American Legion Presents New Flag to the Village

THANK YOU: American Legion Post 133 veterans presented a new American flag to the Village Monday night in Council Chambers. This replaces the flag that was destroyed in an act of vandalism at Village Hall earlier this month. We thank all the veterans and their families for this gracious presentation .

Senior Programming Comes to
Perrine Community House at Palmetto Bay
Starting in May, an entire schedule of senior programs will be offered at the historic, newly renovated Perrine Community House at Palmetto Bay. Classes include Floral arranging, Tempo Technology, Knitting, Art Classes, a Domino Tournament, and of course, our Senior Game Day. Please remember that some programs are fee based and some are FREE. It’s important that you please remember to RSVP, even for those programs that are free so we can make sure there is plenty of space for everyone.
