Freebee Metrorail Shuttle to Launch September 19
- New, Earlier Time for Ribbon Cutting -
Palmetto Bay's new and popular Freebee program is expanding. Beginning September 19th, you can hop on a "Freebee" van to take you to the Dadeland South Metrorail station from Palmetto Bay Park, FREE. Two vans will be making both morning and evening scheduled runs. This Park & Ride program is in addition to the existing IBus shuttle program that departs from Holy Rosary-St. Richard's Church. Our other two Freebee vehicles will continue to offer free on-demand rides throughout the Village (download the "ride freebee" app, flag one down, or call for a ride at 305-397-5002).

We are the only municipality in Miami-Dade County allowed access to the bus transitway for our Park n' Ride programs. This provides a faster way to get to and from Metrorail. To welcome this new Freebee Shuttle system to the Village, please join us for a ribbon-cutting at Palmetto Bay Park on September 19th at 10:00 am. See you there!

Input from Parents and Families Requested
Please join us as we discuss the scope of a Joint Use Agreement between the Miami-Dade School Board and Palmetto Bay. What's it all about? Under a board-approved agreement, designated Village park sites and designated MDCPS sites (Howard Drive Elementary School and Coral Reef Elementary School), will be made available for use by each for recreational and educational purposes. Although the current agreement is only for CRE and HDE, the discussion will also include Southwood Middle School in anticipation of an agreement for that school.

Parents and families, we'd like to hear from you about it, so please plan to attend on Thursday night, September 26th at 6 pm, Village Hall,
Village Camp Counselor Gifted New Bike After Theft

Michael Rilo was a teen counselor for the Village's summer camp this year. A responsible, energetic, reliable, smart and just an overall great young man. Come rain or shine, he came to camp every single day on his bike. Towards the end of camp, his bike was stolen. With the Manager's approval, Parks & Recreation Director Fanny Carmona surprised him with the purchase of a new bike on August 6th .
