Fathers in Education Day Celebrated at Dr. Henry E. Perrine Academy of the Arts: The importance of fathers roles in our children's education was the theme of a special "welcoming" morning at Perrine Elementary School on Thursday.. As part of a county-wide initiative known as "The Fatherhood Task Force of South Florida", the school's Media Center set the stage for an appreciation breakfast/program. Guests were treated to a performance by the Perrine Elementary Chorus and two piano solos by Eric Wei and Bianca Li. One father in attendance, Eugene Butler, read the story, "Just Like Dad" to his two children, Jayden and Jayla Butler (also pictured with Mayor Karyn Cunningham). In addition to whom she called "Neighborhood Dads" who always lend a hand when needed, Principal Carla Rivas recognized Palmetto Bay Policing Unit Officers for their assistance at the school. Hats off to Dads and our amazing police officers!
