Was your business impacted by COVID-19?

The CARES Act wants to help you with a RISE loan.

The Miami-Dade County Board of Commissioners has approved $25 million for the RISE Miami-Dade Fund to help small businesses in the County that were impacted by COVID-19. RISE, which is an acronym for Re-Investing in our Small Business Economy, has been created by drawing on flexible funds provided to local governments through the federal CARES Act.

To see if your business qualifies for a RISE loan, visit risemiamidade.com.

More business assistance resources:

The Miami-Dade Beacon Council is providing resources to support local businesses and employees. For more business information about COVID-19, visit the Beacon Council website or email beaconhelp@beaconcouncil.com

The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce also has a business resource guide.

Through the federal CARES Act, billions of dollars are available for small businesses in the form of loans and grants, such as Economic Injury Disaster Loans and the Paycheck Protection Program, both of which are administered by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

In addition, local businesses can start applying for Florida Emergency Bridge Loans by calling 833-832-4494.
Back-To-School Immunizations
All M-DCPS students are required to have the mandatory school age vaccines for the 2020-2021 school year, including those participating exclusively via My School Online.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) are urging parents/guardians to check their children’s immunization records to see if they are due for any mandated school entry vaccines. Particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s important for children to receive vaccinations to protect them from preventable disease and outbreaks. During the upcoming influenza season, the flu shot will also be critically important to reduce the impact of respiratory illnesses in the community.

Parents/guardians should not wait to contact their medical provider to schedule an appointment. Not only are school age vaccines required for school, vaccinations prevent illnesses that lead to unnecessary medical visits, hospitalizations and further strain on the healthcare system.
