Special Council Meeting to Address Four-Way Stop Signs at 174th Street and Southwest 87th Avenue
T he County has ordered the removal of the four-way stop signs now in place at SW 174 Street and SW 87 Avenue in Palmetto Bay on Friday, October 18th. Join us for a Special Council Meeting on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.  at Village Hall, as we discuss an email received by the Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) and requesting the County to leave the 4-way stop signs in place .

We'll also discuss the filing of an emergency motion against the County to prohibit them from removing the stop signs due to public safety at least until the county commission can rule on this. Discussion will also ensue to petition the Miami Dade County Board of County Commissioners for relief on this matter, by directing the County Mayor to stop DTPW from forcing the Village to remove the stop signs in the event the action would create a public safety hazard.

Please join us for a Special Freebee Launch with a Lifesaving Message from FDOT
-Friday, October 18th at 10 am-

Palmetto Bay, have you seen it? There's a third Freebee rolling around town with a special message: "Put it Down, it's the Law". The message is being spread to remind us of Florida's new ban on texting while driving, and hands-free only in school and construction zones. We'd like to further that message on Friday, October 18th. In partnership with FDOT, we're holding a gathering to show off this special Freebee, and to hear from the South Florida mother who turned her pain into action in order to champion this legislation. We'll also share a message from Palmetto Bay's Mark Merwitzer, who also worked for years to help make this law a reality. Won't you join us? We were rained out on the 8th, so we've rescheduled for Friday, the 18th at 10 am, Perrine House at Palmetto Bay, 900 SW 97th Ave. Hope to see you there!
