Seniors, your Village has teamed up with Cutler Bay and Pinecrest for board-game tournaments. On August 6th, free b reakfast & bingo in Cutler Bay. Then a mah jong tourney in Pinecrest on Wednesday, September 18th for just $10. RSVP required.

Freebee Arrives in Palmetto Bay; Service and Ribbon Cutting Begins Monday
On Monday, July 22nd at 11 am, join us at Palmetto Bay Park as we welcome our first two "Freebees" to the Village. These are green gasless on-demand vehicles that pick you up and take you anywhere within Palmetto Bay, FREE!

Starting Monday, July 22nd, service hours are
  • Monday - Friday: 6:30am-10am / 3pm-7pm,
  • Saturday: 1pm-10pm.

Simply download "Ride Freebee" in yo ur app store, and summon Freebee to pick you up and deliver you to any point in the Village. If you don't use a smart phone, or you don't wish to dowload the app, you may call 305-397-5002. In September, in addition to the two existing vehicles, two "Freebee" shuttle buses will be added to take riders from Palmetto Bay Park to the Dadeland South Metro-rail station, Monday through Friday, mornings and evenings.
Seniors Had a Ball at Marlins Park

In a joint initiative with Cutler Bay and Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay Seniors joined neighboring residents for a "Tri-City" outing to Marlins Park on Thursday, July 18th. The gang enjoyed transportation, game tickets and lunch, all free of charge. The best part? The Marlins beat San Diego 4-3.
Back to School Sales Tax Holiday

Hard to believe, but yes, in just a couple of weeks, Florida's sales tax holiday on school supplies takes effect. To see the complete list of what's exempt from August 2nd through 6th, click here.
Franjo Road Redevelopment Phase II Continues

  • Phase 2 of the Franjo Rd. reconstruction project is underway as of July 10th. It includes the closure of Franjo Rd. from SW 180th St to US 1 for a period of 100 days or until October 16, 2019. Unlike phase 1 - NO BUSINESSES ARE AFFECTED IN TERMS OF ACCESS.

One of the services available to you as a Palmetto Bay resident, is a "watch order" for your home while you are away. Simply call the Palmetto Bay Policing Unit at 305-278-4000, and after answering a few questions, you will have peace of mind knowing police will pass by your home daily to help ensure its security.
