Passport Acceptance Facility Ribbon-Cutting
New passport applications will be accepted at Village Hall beginning Monday, May 13th at 9:30 am. The service will be $35 in addition to passport fees. Appointments only at 305-259-1234. A ribbon-cutting with Mayor and Council will precede the opening at 9 am.
Tri-City Double 6 Senior Dominoes Tournament
If you're 55 plus and love dominoes, now is your chance to compete against your neighbors! Thursday, May 16th from 6 pm - 9 pm. Perrine Community House at Palmetto Bay. $20 per person. Registration required.
Responsible Gardening Series
Learn about the environmental benefits of composting during the first session of this year's Responsible Gardening Lecture series. Wednesday, May 22nd 7 pm. Thalatta Estate. Registration required.
Memorial Celebration at Deering Estate
On Saturday, May 25th, Palmetto Bay residents will receive FREE admission to a Memorial Day weekend celebration on the grounds of Deering Estate. There will be a military parade, scavenger hunt, live bands and DJ, giant board games, tours, vendors and more. The event is from 10 am to 4 pm. ID required.
Summer Camp Registration Open
It won't be long now! Register your child for Camp Palmetto Bay (June 10-August 2) or Summer Tennis Camp (June 10 - August 16). For more information, call our Parks Dept. at 305-259-1234.

Retiring MDFR Chief Honored at Village Hall

At Monday's Regular Council Meeting, Mayor and Council recognized retiring Miami Dade Fire Chief Dave Downey with a formal proclamation. Downey has been a firefighter for 37 years, 31 of which were spent with Miami-Dade County, earning the rank of Chief in 2013. Recently, Chief Downey presided over a "push-in" ceremony at Station 50 in Palmetto Bay with the arrival of a new engine. We thank him for his dedication!

Cure CF Miami Foundation Salutes Palmetto Bay

Bonnee Binker and Jerry Socherman of the Cure CF Miami Foundation presented Mayor and Council with a framed expression of gratitude at the Regular Council meeting Monday night. The Village donated the use of Palmetto Bay Park and sponsored two teams for the organization's "Kick CF" Kickball Fundraiser in February. A whopping $70,000 was raised this year. Thanks to all who participated!

First Senior Game Day Held at Perrine Community House at Palmetto Bay, More Events Underway
An entire schedule of senior programs is now being offered at the historic, newly renovated Perrine Community House at Palmetto Bay. Classes include Floral arranging, Tempo Technology, Knitting, Art Classes, a Domino Tournament, and of course, our Senior Game Day. Please remember that some programs are fee based and some are FREE. It’s important that you please remember to RSVP , even for those programs that are free so we can make sure there is plenty of space for everyone. . 900 SW 97th Ave.
