New Class Starts Tonight, 7pm!
Sacrifice in the Bible & Christian Life
Sacrifice perplexes us today. It is central to the religion of the Bible, but today conjures up sad and frightening images of violence and loss. This is because a centuries-old misconception distorts what was for ancient people a joyful everyday experience.

We will take a fresh look at the sacrifices of the Old Testament and their fulfillment in Christ. Then we'll consider how Christ’s sacrifice bears fruit in us today, in the offerings we make to God.

Along the way we'll see how sacrifice is a precious and meaningful gift, welcoming God into our lives.

Looking Back
Last Sunday we discussed “Joseph: In Egypt” (Genesis 39-45; Children’s Bible Reader pages 54-71). Here are some ideas for review and application:
  1. Give children the task of being the “butler” or the “baker,” complete with tasks.
  2. Drive by a prison/jail (or look at pictures of them on the internet) and discuss how those inside must feel. (And maybe write a letter or card for a prisoner.)
  3. Look at cows and review Pharaoh’s dream.
  4. Hide a cup around the house, and play "Who’s got the cup?"
⤿ Looking Forward
Next Sunday we will discuss “Moses: Early Years” ( Exodus 2:1-4:20 ; Children’s Bible Reader pages 73-78).
