Fasting Guidelines
In addition to normal fasting on Wednesdays and Fridays, we fast next Monday (Sept 14) in honor of the Feast of the Elevation of the Holy Cross. It is traditional to abstain from meat, dairy, fish, and alcohol. Blessed Feast!

“The Birth of John the Baptist”
Read the story of John’s birth in the Children’s Bible Reader, pages 162-63 and 166-68; Scripture reference: Luke 1:1-25, 57-80.

  1. Children should be able to tell the story of Elizabeth, Zachariah, and the angel.
  2. Children should be able to identify John as the child of Elizabeth and Zachariah.
