Adult Class: The Religion of the Apostles and the Apostolic Fathers
Since the Orthodox Church traces its lineage back to apostolic times, a proper understanding of the worldview that surrounded the apostles and their immediate successors is integral to understanding the Orthodox Church both then and now. This class will utilize both Fr. Stephen DeYoung’s new book The Religion of the Apostles as well as the writings of the Apostolic Fathers to put us into the mindset of early Christians as they navigate the theology and culture of first and second century Christendom. So that no one has to miss out, childcare will be provided! Please ask Fr. Kosmas for more details. Click here to register!
Men's Monastery Trip
Our annual retreat to Saint Michael's Monastery (Canones, NM) will be October 11-15. If you can join us, talk to Fr Kosmas or Greg Waters. The cost is $100 and we are limited to about eight men. This amount will cover food at the monastery. Additional costs include gas, meals on the road and a donation to the monastery, as you are able. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Sunday School
Sunday school has started! As we begin here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Sunday school will be from 9:10-9:50 am
  • There will be 5 classes ages 6 months to high school
  • Due to limited space we will have classes in three of the four corners of Adwon hall.
  • Parents are asked to go upstairs and attend Orthros after dropping off their children.
  • We will practice hand sanitizing and ask if your kids are sick or have had a fever in the past 24 hours that they not attend. Masks are welcome but not required.
  • If your child is under 10, please come back downstairs at 9:50 to pick them up and take them for a short bathroom break before liturgy.
  • Church history is the focus of our classes this year and we will continue to have topics of discussion and worksheets in the weekly newsletter.
  • This year we will also be starting a children's choir that will meet for a few minutes during Sunday school one week a month. Children ages K-12 will practice with Mrs. Sara the third Sunday of every month.
