NEWEST NEWS
Update from Our Treasurer
Greetings in our Lord Jesus Christ! We are in mid-summer and I would like to provide a financial update. Having hit our financial goal for several months in a row, we now seem to be in a Summer Slump. Our monthly income goal is $14,000, but total contributions for June were down to $12,164.

This comes at a bad time as we transition from Fr Jeremy to Fr Kosmas. To help with a smooth transition, we have the benefit of having both priests with us through August, but this also means a double payroll in August. The Parish Council has committed most of our cash reserves to this process and it is important that we meet or exceed our budget in the next few months to stay in good financial health. Anything you can do to contribute financially will be a great help as we move through the summer months.

In Christ,
Greg Waters
Summer Bash: THIS Saturday, July 24, 11am–2pm
Hey, kids: Grab your swimsuits and join us for a Summer Bash! It'll be fun in the sun at Holy Ascension, with a taco bar, a sundae bar, a bouncy castle with water slide, water balloons, a kiddy pool, and so much more!

Be sure to bring your lawn chair and sunscreen. And please RSVP at the Evite: Click Here. While you're on the Evite, check out the "What to bring" section and sign up to contribute something.
St Timon Sunday
Each year, we take a collection to support the humanitarian work of the Archdiocese of Bosra-Hauran, in Syria. In a region devastated by war, they provide food, shelter and other services not only to the Orthodox of the area, but also to their Muslim and Druze neighbors.

Please bring your donations this Sunday and place them in the offering box. Checks should be made out to "Holy Ascension," with the memo "Hauran"; cash should be enclosed in an envelope labeled "Hauran." Alternatively, you can mail a check to Holy Ascension (memo: "Hauran").

Thanks for your generous support!

Men's Monastery Trip
Save the date! Our annual Men's Monastery Trip is scheduled for October 11–15 (our usual September dates were already booked up). God willing, we will once again spend a few days with the monks of St Michael's Monastery in Cañones, NM. This year, Fr Kosmas will be the spiritual leader of our trip, and Greg Waters will be the practical organizer. Keep checking future editions of What's Up for information on how to register, when the time comes.
