CCHS & CCMS Set To Be Named Prestigious California Gold Ribbon Schools!
Two more Culver City schools will be earning the state's highest honors this Spring.  In part because of their model programs CENTAUR PLUS and PAWs (Panther Achievement Workshops), CCHS & CCMS will join California's most rigorous schools in being named "Gold Ribbon" this Spring.  See their model programs HERE and HERE.
College Acceptance @ Culver City High School Hits An All-Time High!!!
Culver City Unified's mission to graduate students from high school with unlimited opportunities for success means having access to 4-Year Universities directly after high school.  This year, we have some great news for students and families  --->>  4-Year College Acceptance for Seniors is at an all time high as we're expecting more than 62% of  our 12th graders to graduate with access to top tier Colleges nationwide!!!
Lacrosse Continues To Soar
With a Top 100 ranking, and a program that has literally been soaring in participation, success, and engagement throughout Culver City, Boys and Girls Lacrosse at CCHS are having banner seasons and are looking forward to having the community out at their games throughout the Spring.  With brand new bleachers out on the Lacrosse Field, there's plenty of room for everyone to enjoy a great game during a fantastic season!
Run, Jump, Throw:
Culver City Track & Field
Culver City's Track & Field program continues to dominate Southern California in part because of how many multi-sport athletes are top tier runners, jumpers, and throwers across the team.  Coach Wright is a genius at maximizing the athleticism of his squad, and if you haven't seen this year's team compete yet, head out to Chabola Stadium for a meet!
#FUTURECENTAURS
From the time they're in elementary school, our students know they want to graduate as Centaurs.  In the picture above "Future Centaurs" from Ms. Carpenter's and Ms. Thompson's classes at El Rincon and Farragut sport their #FUTURECENTAUR gear as they get focused on the future and all that awaits them in high school and beyond.
The Air Force @ El Rincon
With a strongly-forged partnership with the Los Angeles Air Force Base, El Rincon is the beneficiary of frequent visit from the Airmen and Airwomen who call Southern California their home.  During last week's STEAM Unit, students not only learned the physics behind paper airplanes... they heard first-hand experiences about flying a plane, too!

The Nationally Ranked Culver City Spirit Team takes cheering and competing pretty seriously.  In fact, they're widely known for tumbling and stunting just about anywhere that's humanly possible.  Just check out this Disney pic to see what we mean....
AVPA Film Debuts 2017 Shorts @ Sony Pictures' Carey Grant Theater!
Sooooo... How many 16 and 17 year olds can say they "debuted their film at Sony Studios when they were still in high school?"  These AVPA'ers can.  On March 23rd, five films were shown to a star-studded audience with absolutely rave reviews.   AVPA Film allows students to learn the skills and build the confidence to, literally, make movies.  If that's something you've ever dreamed of, it's completely possible in Culver City Unified :)
CCUSD Partners With SWEETGREEN For Earth Week Healthy Eats Demonstration
Healthy eats and salad connoisseur SWEETGREEN is partnering with Culver City Schools on an ambitious recipe/menu development project that includes looking into  ways to affordably source  no-spray produce for all CCUSD students.  The partnership begins next week during a “Rethink Healthy Foods” tasting table at the CCMS and CCHS campuses, complete with recipe cards to take home so students can try it themselves!
