CGI Math In The Third Grade...
You've heard it time and time again:   CGI.  With all of our elementary math teachers trained and implementing Cognitively Guided Instruction, the result is MATHEMATICAL THINKING and discourse that develops a student's number sense and conceptual mastery.  For an example of this "thinking," check out the third-grade problem and response above.  Remember, it isn't just about the answer... it's the process and explanation of a rationale that makes CGI a game-changer for K-5 Math instruction.
 6th Grade Parachute Drop!
Ms. Wilke's STEM class at Culver City Middle School isn't just about classroom learning.  The application of knowledge and experimentation that students experience make this Science pathway not only rigorous, but engaging as well.  Parachutes work by lowering an object's terminal velocity, and learning by doing is the best way to own this fact.
Unity Rally @ CCHS:
Student Groups Come Together
Students from Culver City High School's Black Student Union, Latinos Unidos, and Muslim Student Association organized a Unity Rally for fellow students, teachers, and staff to participate in and demonstrate their respect for diversity and differences.  The result was a morning of love, connectedness, and unity for the entire CCHS learning community.
Middle Schooler's Website Is A Math Sensation!
