The Power of Diversity
You've heard it time and time again:  Culver City Schools are diverse.  Some of the most diverse in the United States Of America, actually.  This February, and every month of the year, that's a context for our students that we celebrate.  All of our histories are important, and we're fortunate in CCUSD to be able to go to school with so many people from all over the world.  It's what makes growing up here such a foundation for future success.
Family Bonds Happen @ Open House
Seeing your student's work is a monumental occasion.  Having them boast and brag about their achievement can make it even more special.  At Open Houses throughout the district, that's exactly what Culver City families are experiencing as parents visit schools to learn about student progress throughout the year.  As much as those one-on-one conversations with teachers are important, it's having students lead the way that matters most.

Preschoool Gets $500 Donation :)
MOM’s Club of Culver City East recently made a donation of $500 cash and a slew of age-appropriate toys to the CCUSD Office of Child Development.  “We are so lucky to have the support of so many people in the Culver City community,” said Claudia Arreola, director of the Office of Child Development. The OCDt offers the highest level of safe and educational learning environments for children from preschool to fifth grade. These educators also know that having fun can be one of the best educational tools, so they strive to create learning opportunities that are both enjoyable and informative.
Culver City Teacher Featured In Math Textbook!
Congratulations to Courtney Farrar, Kindergarten teacher at Lin Howe elementary.  Ms. Farrar is featured in the book Young Children's Mathematics: Cognitively Guided Instruction in Early Childhood Education (p. 86, 106-107), and is quoted reflecting on students thinking and the power of CGI as a teaching practice.  CCUSD teachers are truly some of the best in the nation, and we're proud to have their talents here in Culver City!
