Culver City Wins Green Ribbon Schools Award!
One of only 5 school districts in the state, Culver City Unified was bestowed the historic honor of being named a California Green Ribbon School District, and the distinction of winning the state's highest award:   GREEN ACHIEVER.  From here, CCUSD will enter the Federal Competition and vie for recognition in Washington D.C. later this year.  The State Of California noted that Culver City Schools demonstrate forward thinking and regard for future generations through our environmentally-focused education programs, sustainability initiatives, and overall culture of awareness for humankind.  This achievement belongs to all us and is a true extension of our community's #CULVERPRIDE.
Thank You Sue Robins!
Dancing In The Street:
The Arts On Elenda
The Arts start early in Culver City Unified, and with performing and visual arts programs offered, both, during the school day and after school, students who want to draw, paint, sing, act, play an instrument, or dance have plenty of opportunities to hone in their skills on the way to national caliber programs in high school.  So don't wait, the Arts start now!
Play Ball:
Spring Sports Are Here!
Culver City athletics is having a banner year.  Already winning a CIF championship and multiple League Titles this Fall and Winter, Spring is gearing up to be fantastic as well with Baseball, Softball, Track & Field, Lacrosse, Swim, Boys Volleyball, Boys Tennis, and Boys Golf all ranked and positioned for deep playoff runs.  Get your tickets now and come out to support your Centaurs as they showcase their talents on behalf of Culver City all season.
Preschoolers Lead The Way
When 3 and 4 year olds talk, you better listen.  That's precisely the mindset these adult visitors had as a group of "Eric Carle Tour Guides" showed them around multiple exhibit's in Ms. Angelica's room at the Office Of Child Development.  Providing experiences for students to lead is precisely how they develop their confidence, language, and the social-emotional skills associated with presentations. Great job OCD'ers! You're leaders already.
CCMS Gets Soundbars In Every Room 🔈
Thanks to a successful fundraising drive, Culver City Middle School has purchased two different soundbars and mounted them in classrooms before installing the the whole school with them during Spring Break.  Ms. Torres says she can better include educational videos, news clips, and movie excerpts into her class now, as well s support her  Film Club.  Audio sure makes a difference.  And thanks to our parents for making this happen!
Field Trips Matter.
When Ms. Masterson's class went on a field trip this past week to the Griffith Park Observatory, she knew that students were going to learn more than just about the planets... they would learn about themselves, too.  That's what field trips can provide --- life experiences of independence and joy the likes of which a classroom can't duplicate.
