Additional Elementary Art:
All Schools Get More Art Time
Thanks to the support of CCEF, and the vision for comprehensive visual art experiences for all elementary students, Culver City Unified has added art teachers and art time to every school so that students can make, explore, and share their creativity with meaning and value.
Danielle Koplinka-Loehr (pictured above) can not only sing, she's truly one of the finest vocal music instructors in the country.  More than just passionate, Ms. Koplinka-Loehr's love for music is contagious, and she's fast been growing the vocal music program in Culver City Schools.  Teachers make the difference.  Whether it's a core academic experience, an athletic coach, an arts director, or an after-school mentor, the connections kids make with an adult go far beyond content and skill, and keep students coming back to practice and excel at subjects they want to be successful in.
Career Day @ CCMS
From NBA Legend, and current WNBA Atlanta Dream Coach, Michael Cooper, to parents, industry professionals, and local business owners, Culver City Middle School's Career Day was truly a community effort.  Thank you to everyone for making this experience possible for our kids!
Thank You Career Day Speakers
And this is just a brief list of some of the awesome careers CCMS students got to learn about last week:  Sitcom Writing, Orthodontics, Veterinary Medicine, Culinary Arts, Journalism, Community Advocacy, Athletic Training, Marketing, Photography, Architecture, Marine Biology, Entertainment, Small Business Ownership, Social Work, Video Game Production, College Counseling, Law Enforcement, and Astrophysics.  WOW!
Culver City Unified's award-winning Whole Child Initiative includes our Backpacks4Kids Program which provides anonymous backpacks full of free and healthy food that students take home over the weekend for their families.  As part of our annual donation drive to fund and support this program, ALL SCHOOLS ARE CONDUCTING A FOOD DRIVE to collect non-perishables to stock in our Food Warehouse.  All donations are appreciated --- just drop off your contribution to your school's Main Office by December 16th, or make a cash donation by writing a check payable to CCCPTA for any amount.
The purpose of the Culver City Unified School District's Facebook, Twitter Instagram, and YouTube accounts is to further the District's vision and mission to connect and engage all students, teachers, and families to the Academic, Artistic, and Athletic efforts of our schools.   For questions about social media, please contact your school's principal, or email our Director Of Technology at directoroftech@ccusd.org.
