Greenberg Gets A 36 On ACT
CCHS Senior Zachary Greenberg just rocked the ACT Exam with a PERFECT SCORE of 36.  Woo-Hoo!  On average, less than one-tenth of 1 percent of students who take the ACT earn that top score.
“Zachary is the epitome of a scholar athlete who excels in the classroom and in the pool,” said Assistant Principal DuBois McMillan of the Centaur Boys Water Polo Player.  Congrats, again, Greenberg... A perfect score for a well-deserving student!
Field Trips Can Change Lives
For a child, a simple trip to the Aquarium can be a really big deal.  There are animals that can breathe underwater? Look how colorful it is!  The sights, sounds, and overall sensory experiences that field trips can provide engage and inspire students each and every year.  And as a school district, we're committed to continuing to provide our students with indelible opportunities to learn and grow by virtue of having first-hand experiences.
Whole Child Efforts Are #1

The California School Board Association (CSBA) has announced that the Culver City Unified School District has been awarded the 2016 Golden Bell Award in the Community Schools through Partnerships and Collaboration category for its exemplary and innovative program “Whole Child, Whole Community Initiative."  The Whole Child, Whole Community effort features programs aimed at addressing the needs of students beyond the classroom, including the Culver Closet, Backpacks for Kids, and the Culver City Compact.

Window Clings Are Coming
If you haven't received one already, check your mail for a #CULVERPRIDE window cling, courtesy of CCEF, our district's Education Foundation.  These clings are yours for FREE, and we hope that you'll sport them around and show off your pride for not only our schools in Culver City, but all aspects of our culture districtwide.

Students at La Ballona Elementary are taking part in an innovative new experience designed to help them learn about mathematics in a way that is both fun and engaging. Each Tuesday after school, students gather for the La Ballona Math Circle, part of a movement originated in Eastern Europe that came to the United States in the 1990s.  At La Ballona, the Math Circle brings students together with mathematicians, mathematical scientists and mathematics educators, as well as parent volunteers, in an informal setting to work on interesting problems or topics in mathematics.  A primary goal of the La Ballona Math Circle is to make the experience accessible to every interested student, and Project founder Dr. Blake Mellor, a professor of mathematics at Loyola Marymount University, said the program has, thus far, been able to achieve this access for all.

AVPA'S Fall Musical Performance Is 7pm @ Vets
