A Fun Reunion; Lots Of News
Greetings

Roy and I are enjoying the fall after spending a great summer at the shore with family and friends. We then celebrated the beginning of the fall season by attending the YMCA Alumni Reunion in Louisville, Ky. The committee’s hard work was reflected throughout the entire reunion.

The highlights started with a steamboat river cruise on the Ohio River on the historic Belle of Louisville where we were able to connect with friends and meet new ones.  (Photo below: Roy Taylor and Walt Fromm aboard the Belle. )
The next morning started with interesting workshops dealing with travel, technology, and membership. The afternoon was highlighted by a fabulous choice of tours which included Churchill Downs , which we did, two bourbon distillery tours, the Muhammad Ali Center and the Louisville Slugger Museum. Everyone seemed to enjoy their choice.
Thursday morning there were more workshops. It was during the general session that we honored a true friend and colleague, Len Wilson , with the prestigious F. William Stahl Award. Len is an active member of our chapter.
Lou Falk , YMCA Alumni Eastern Vice President, will be turning over the reins to Larry Garvin of the C.B. Willis Chapter in Florida. We want to thank Lou for his outstanding leadership and friendship. He has been a joy to work with. (Photo right: Lou on DominicanRepublic Homebuilding service project trip.)

Larry will have the huge responsibility of chairing the committee for the Reunion '21 which will be held in the East Region. We are looking forward to his leadership. Congratulations, Larry.

Len Wilson Receives F. William Stahl Award
Our esteemed member and good friend Len Wilson was the recipient of the 2019 F. William Stahl Award , which is YMCA Alumni’s most prestigious honor. He was presented the award in front of many of his friends and colleagues during the General Assembly at Reunion '19.

Len’s dedication to the written word is beyond excellence. His articles have been and continue to be published in several Y-related publications. Currently Len and his wife Joyce are editors of Bridges, newsletter of the World Fellowship of YMCA Retirees . We are so proud he is a member of our chapter.
