Harmony — “a combination of musical sounds considered to be pleasing”… that personifies The Lettermen for more than 50 years. Soft, romantic harmonies blend for music such as their first hit, “The Way You Look Tonight.”
The Lettermen have cut more than 75 albums, have numerous gold records and a myriad of hit songs such as “When I Fall In Love,” “Theme From A Summer Place,” “Goin’ Out Of My Head,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You,” “Put Your Head On My Shoulder,” “Hurt So Bad,” and “Shangri-La.”
The Diamonds’ hits include “Little Darlin,” “Silhouettes,” “The Stroll,” “Why Do Fools Fall In Love?” And more.
The one thing that remained constant over the years, despite many personnel changes, is the unique three-part harmony. Isn’t it romantic?
First, our meeting...
Begin with our Annual Hoosier–Buell Chapter meeting at 1 p.m. in the Wisteria Meeting Room at Blue Gate Garden Inn. Shipshewana is an Amish community located one hour south of Kalamazoo and/or one hour northwest of Fort Wayne.
Our meeting will include these topics:
Balance-Brain-Body: Our body and our brain are crucial to good balance. Learn functional techniques to work your balance and brain at the same time.
Personal Investment Strategies: How to plan and monitor your investments. How can we maintain and improve our standard of living? Financial advisor Marley Hardy from Edward Jones will present information that is pertinent to current retirees.
National Service Project: The Sioux YMCA has been chosen as our first project. What are the needs? What is that Y’s history? How can we help? When can we see the proposed project? Where do I sign up? Dan Sager has served on the national committee and is excited to share all the information with our chapter about the project.
We will have reports on our membership, finances, election of officers and door prizes, too.
