Chamber Announces New 2022-23 Directors
 
The Chamber announced the appointment of new directors, elected by its membership, at a meeting held April 21. Directors include:
 
Valerie Nichols. Nichols is the customer service manager at Delhi Telephone Company.
 
Kelsey Earl. Earl is a Business Account Representative at Margaretville Telephone Company.
 
Jacob Sackett. Jacob Sackett is the co-owner of Bovina Farm and Fermentory, a small permaculture farm and market. practices law with an emphasis on real estate, estate planning, and matrimonials.

Seth Wildenstein. Seth Wildenstein is a Certified Hospital Emergency Coordinator and is the Director of Support Services at UHS Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton.
 
Seth Blocker. Blocker operates a chiropractic office in Delhi.

The Chamber board of directors offers a heartfelt thanks to outgoing President Todd Pascarella who is leaving the board as his term has expired. Under Todd's leadership the Chamber has taken leaps forward in engaging the business community and taking a responsive and proactive role in advocacy. We send best wishes to Todd and his family in their future endeavors.

The Chamber is focused on key areas, including community and economic development, advocacy, tourism promotion, and business engagement, and partners with municipal leaders, community organizations, and local companies to present a unified voice of business for the improvement of the community.

Roman Roaster Coffee owner Andrea Ghersi will be our host. Andrea roasts and blends coffee in the Italian tradition at his facility at the Business Center in Delhi. He will share with you his passion for coffee and how he creates his distinctive products. Tours and samples will be available.

Montessori School founders Sophie Wallas Rasmussen and David Madie will be our hosts. Meet faculty and staff and learn about their passion for farm-based education, tour the classrooms, and learn more about the future plans for this unique institution. The Bovina Center Montessori School enrolled its first class in September 2021 and is expanding to include a middle school for this fall.

Dirt Road Camp owners Laura LaSpaluto and Brad Lockwood will be our hosts.  Opened in 2019, Dirt Road Camp began as a vision to create a serene, private and primitive campground that offers guests a true escape into the wilderness. Brad and Laura will tell us how they transformed their passion for off-grid living to a highly popular destination. 
Tours and refreshments will be available.

MEMBER EVENTS
Notary Public Class in Delhi May 10
Participants will be expertly prepared to handily pass the required, proctored state Notary Public written examination after this class which reviews necessary practices to correctly and ethically perform legal duties in a professional manner.
Class is held on May 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bluestone Banquet Room in Delhi. This workshop is hosted by SUNY Delhi’s Office of Continuing Education and Professional Studies.

ServeSafe Certification Course in Delhi, May 16

SUNY Delhi is offering an eight-hour ServSafe certification course on May 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

This eight-hour course includes instruction of ServSafe protocols and standards followed by participants testing for their certification all in one session.

The cost for this training and certification is $199 for a single participant and is for both first time and renewal certification participants.

Kappa Sigma Epsilon Hosts Golf Tournament to Benefit T2T

Kappa Sigma Epsilon fraternity at SUNY Delhi hosts its annual golf tournament benefitting the Tunnel to Towers Foundation on June 3 at the College Golf Course at Delhi.
A special feature of this year's event is an online auction.
