Greetings!
“Summertime….
and the livin' is easy”
Remember that old song? It’s hard to relate to that considering the 2022 challenges we as individual YMCA Alumni members face in today’s volatile climate.
The litany of inflation, food and gas prices, gun laws, Roe v. Wade and our Supreme Court, climate change, Ukraine War, health care, uncompromising political discourse, and many more issues continue to challenge our perceived happiness as a retiree.
I can truly be thankful that we survive as YMCA Alumni with much
appreciation for the blessings of our career. Our mission statement is to put Christian principles into practice that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all should compel us to serve our country in addressing that huge litany list above.
True….we may not be able to address all of these challenges, but surely we can pray for people to be more Christ-like.
Hope you can enjoy your “easy time” and your healthy retirement this summer.

Co-President, Hoosier-Buell Chapter

YMCA Alumni Travel Club
is 'on the go again'
|
|
Three trips long planned by your YMCA Alumni Travel Club are finally on the road (or water) again. The Royal Caribbean President's Cruise to Alaska has just returned from a great time in "The Last Frontier." Colorado's Historic Trains heads out early next month and thrice-postponed Viking Ocean Cruise Trade Routes of the Middle Ages catches the waves in late September. All three sold out. Hoosier-Buell's Dan, Marilyn and Patrick Sager, Dale and Joy Packer and Don and Ramona Stetson will be aboard the Colorado Historic Trains.
Be sure to read GOING PLACES, our Travel Club newsletter, included in the Aug. 1 issue of The CONNECTION for news of trips on the horizon for 2023. Space is always limited so do not delay signing up.
