Video: How to Apply for a Scholarship

We recently updated our online scholarship application system to make the process as easy, simple and efficient as possible for students. All students will need to create a new online account prior to applying for future scholarships. We created this short video to walk students through creating an account and applying for a scholarship. Take a few minutes to watch and if you have questions, get in touch: bit.ly/DFHowtoApply.

STORYTELLER STUDENT PROFILE

Geoffrey Bacon

“Ever since I was little I had thought about the law, and my grandmother said, 'Ah, it'd be good to have a lawyer in the family.' And so that had been percolating in the back of my head for many, many years. I feel like I found my calling and it just seems like the right fit for me,” shares Geoffrey Bacon, the 2021 – 2022 recipient of our Marissa Flannery and Aaron Schutt Legal Scholarship, and a student at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. GRATITUDE CORNER

Bridgette Keener

Doyon Foundation student Bridgette Keener was born and raised in Fairbanks, where she now lives with her husband and two children. A first-generation college student, Bridgette is working toward a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a CPA license after graduating from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2024. In addition to attending school full-time, Bridgette also homeschools her two children. “I want to give them access to opportunities that I did not have,” she says.

Bridgette.jpg

A Doyon Foundation scholarship recipient, Bridgette says, “This scholarship has greatly reduced the financial burden of me attending school on my family. I am trying to create a better future for my children by furthering my own education and I am not sure I could have done it without the financial help of the scholarships I have received. Thank you.”

Watch next month’s e-newsletter for another student thank you, or send your thank you note to [email protected].
