No Fooling - April Agape Was a Hit!
Last evening's Agape Drive-Thru Dinner was another great event! Many church members and Agape friends drove by to pick up a tasty, free dinner to go. In fact, there was such a long line of hungry participants that we ran out of food! As always, we offer a BIG thanks to all our amazing Agape volunteers for sharing the love on behalf of our church family (and they didn't even get to eat)! The next Agape Drive-Thru Dinner is scheduled for Wednesday May 5.

A Beautiful Holy Week
Last week, our church family shared a really special Holy Week featuring four unique services. Maundy Thursday included a special dramatic presentation, communion sharing the Last Supper, and a video featuring many of our church family members. Good Friday's worship focused on specific scripture readings of the day's events illustrated by specific items presented on the Communion table.
Easter Sunday began early with the return of a true Sunrise Service as many gathered in our parking lot for an early morning experience. At 9:45, our main Easter service celebrated the day with a variety of music, scripture readings, communion, and a special message of inspiration. Thanks to all who prepared and shared this very special week in our church life!

Worship This Sunday
Join us Sunday at 9:45am as we discover how our doubts play a role in deepening our faith. In the Gospel of John 20:19-31 (click to read verses) we read how the disciple, Thomas, doubted that Jesus was alive after being crucified and buried. How could Jesus be among the living? This Sunday, discover how Jesus helps us with our doubts and leads us into a new reality. You can join us in person (with masks and safe seating), online by livestream on our Facebook page, and by audio only through Zoom (see details later in this newsletter).

8:30am Zoom Sunday School
Have you ever wanted to learn more about the places, people, and culture of Jesus’ life and times? Join us for an exciting opportunity to grow in your understanding of the Bible while learning valuable insights as a disciple of Christ. This Sunday at 8:30am, we'll begin our study called "Faith Lessons on the Early Church." This video series offers a unique and powerful view of the world that Jesus’ disciples experienced and knew. This week we'll begin with a focus on the ancient city of Aphrodisias and discover how understanding the culture helps us be effective communicators of the Good News. See you Sunday!

"In Person" Worship Reminders
It's great to see more people worshiping in person as vaccines are being administered, so we want to remind everyone of a few things:
- Enter at the front of the church on Webster Avenue only.
- Wear a mask and sanitize your hands upon entry.
- Please sit where directed by an Usher. We know everyone has their “usual” seats, but this allows us to fill from the front to the back and maintain safe spacing so we can fit the most people in while still adhering to CDC recommendations.
- At this time, we're refraining from singing in the sanctuary due to the higher aerosolization that comes with it. You're welcome to hum and/or to play a rhythm instrument along with the recorded music.

Here's How to Participate in Our Sunday Worship Services
|
|
> In Person - Join us in the Sanctuary. Please wear a mask, enter through the Webster doors, use the provided sanitizer, and sit where an usher directs you. It's a blessing to socialize and fellowship with one another after the services (at a safe distance)!
> Live Online - If you're not comfortable joining us in person yet, you can also join us for a live stream of our services on our church Facebook page available around 10 minutes before the listed start time.
|
|
> Sound-only connection - You can listen by phone by calling Zoom at (312) 626-6799 within 10 minutes before the service start time. Enter meeting ID: 206 385 039 followed by #.
> Watch Service recordings anytime - If it's more convenient for you, you can always watch recordings of our recent services on our Facebook page (shortly after the live stream is completed) or our website (roughly an hour after the service is completed).
