Our Vision Statement:

We are a welcoming community FIRST UNITED in proclaiming FAITH in Jesus Christ, sharing HOPE for the future, and inspiring LOVE of our neighbors.

Need Some Extra Support?

Join us this morning (9/26) at 10am for our monthly Woe-Be-Gone Gathering. We'd love to have you spend some time with us for this supportive group as we read scripture, share, pray, and listen to one another. Everyone's invited!

Do You Have a Favorite Hymn?

Join us for our monthly Hymn Sing before worship this Sunday (9/29) at 8:45am. Be thinking of your favorite hymns, then come and call them out that morning. We'll sing as many as we can squeeze in before our worship service begins at 9am.

Plans for This Sunday

During our 2025 Stewardship Campaign, "Moving Forward and Growing," we're sharing a three-week sermon series which will conclude with Commitment Sunday on Sunday, October 13. Look for your pledge materials to arrive in the mail the week of the 7th. Please complete them and bring them with you to worship on the 13th. If you can't make it then, feel free to drop them off in the office. We'll celebrate with a delicious brunch following worship that day (*no Sunday School).

This Sunday (9/29) at 9am, join us for the second week of "Moving Forward and Growing" as Pastors Luke and Meggan present a sermon together highlighting how we are "Better Together!" as a church. We'll read Psalm 18:1-6 & 16-19 and Mark 9:38-50 (click for links) and talk about how each and every one of us has a role and a responsibility to share the Good News of the Gospel. Hope to see you Sunday!

> This week, our Joyful Noise group will lead us in singing "Holy Spirit" and "Soul on Fire." Click titles for video links to get more familiar with them. Service recordings are also available on our website and Facebook page by 11:30am on Sundays (*find links at end of newsletter).

Please bring a photo of your ancestors to briefly describe them and what they've given to you. Also, please read ll Samuel 7-8 to prepare for the class.

Youth Group Update

Our Youth Group is off to a great start this year with lots of new faces in attendance! Hope to see you in our lower level Youth Media Room on Sunday evening!

Have You Smiled for the Camera Yet?

We're celebrating our 175th Jubilee by creating a brand new Church Photo Directory! We're really hoping to include everyone from our church family. Our next session scheduled for this Sunday has been postponed until Sunday, October 6 (due to photographer availability). Please help us add your smiling face to our directory a week from Sunday!

The Reformers Plans for October

Our Dead Reformers Society will be gathering next Tuesday (10/1) at 7pm at Badger State Brewery. Doug Freitag will lead a discussion of William Booth (founder of the Salvation Army) and the Social Gospel. What factors in the 1860’s gave rise to the Social Gospel? We'll delve into the theology of prosperity versus ministering to the poor and find out the current status. Click HERE for some information to help prepare for our discussion. Hope you'll join us!

Presbyterian Women Update

Our P.W. Mission Sewing Group donated 10 dog/cat cage blankets and 12 dog "tug" toys to the Green Bay Humane Society. They're now busy creating "cuddle blankets" for children attending Camp Hope and send a BIG "thank you" to our church family for yards of cute fleece donated! Their October gathering is coming next Thursday (10/3) in the Koinonia Lounge from 9am until 2pm.

Sharing the Love

We hope you'll join us for our next Agape Drive-Thru Dinner coming next Wednesday (10/2) at 5:45pm. The menu for October will be chicken booyah, crackers, and a special dessert. Everyone's invited to pick up free meals (while supplies last). Monetary donations are welcomed, but not required. Invite your friends and neighbors, and come share the love!

Come, Meet Our Pastors

It's almost time for our monthly Pastors in the Parking Lot gathering for October. Bring a chair and spend some time with Pastors Luke and Meggan next Thursday (10/3) at 10am. They set this time on the first Thursday of each month to meet with church friends, so stop by for a visit.

We Appreciate You All!

We offer a special "thank you" to our wonderful office volunteers - Judy England, Melissa Rusk, Barb Ryan, Amy Cassidy, plus Kevin and Debbie Spiegel. They volunteered to help out in our office during September. We really appreciate all their time and efforts to help keep things rolling along!

Cooking Up Something Special

Our 175th Jubilee Cookbook is available now for only $10. It features more than 300 recipes of all kiinds gathered from our church family for all of us to share. You can get yours after church on Sunday, during regular office hours, or by clicking HERE. They could make great Christmas gifts!

Our 175th Jubilee "History Corner"

You’ve probably heard about our Judy Allan Memorial Garden, but let’s dig a little deeper into its history. The Allan family lived in Greenleaf, and became members of our church in the mid 1990's. Judy regularly brought in extra produce from their garden to share with her church family. Sadly, Judy lost her fight against cancer in 2007.

Youth Coordinator Jenny Kraftcheck, proposed the idea of a church garden in memory of Judy’s generosity as a work project for our youth. With funding from a Winnebago Presbytery grant and donations from our congregation, the Judy M. Allan Memorial Garden came to life on May 1, 2010. Two years later, the garden was expanded through a generous memorial gift in the honor Dawn Van Hoosen. Our annual Worship in the Garden event in July 2016 became an extra special day when members of the Allan family returned to join us for worship and celebration. Through the years since, Ted and Lynn Huebbe and then Kevin and Debbie Speigel have led the way for lots of wonderful volunteers in planting, tending, harvesting, and sharing our garden's treasures with many area organizations, neighbors, and our church family members. Watch next week's newsletter for more stories from our History Corner!

Help Stock the Shelves

Our church helps support the Presbyterian Pantry (located at First Presbyterian, Green Bay) with food collection and distribution for those in need. September's donation item is spaghetti sauce, and October's call for donations will be spaghetti noodles and egg noodles. We have a donation bin in our Family Life Center so please help out!

Do You Need Some Help?

Anyone who has lost a loved one is invited to join the "Healing Your Grieving Heart" Bereavement Group at St. Matthew Church at 130 St. Matthew Street in Green Bay. Meetings will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8pm beginning October 24.
