Pastors in the Parking Lot

Our monthly Pastors in the Parking Lot event is TODAY at 10 am. Pastors Luke & Meggan will be available to meet with church friends and spend some time with you. This is a special time planned on the first Thursday of each month.

Attention All Bakers!! We Need Your Help!!

Election Day is Tuesday, August 11. We will be having our Election Day Bake Sale and that's where we need your help. We need some baked items to sell. We suggest breads, brownies, cookies, cake, cupcakes, etc. Please have your items dropped off no later than Monday, August 10.

Sunday Worship Plans

This Sunday, we will explore Psalm 85:8-13 and Matthew 14:22-33 and learn what happens "When Mercy Meets the Waves." Through both the psalmist and the story of Jesus coming to his frightened disciples on the stormy sea, we are reminded that God doesn't always remove the storms of life - but God never leaves us to face them alone.

Nursery Update!!

We're excited to share that we have begun sprucing up our church nursery! New floor tiles have been installed, and a beautiful mural is in the works to create a welcoming, joyful space for our youngest members. The nursery will be "staffed" and available during Sunday worship beginning September 14. We look forward to providing a safe and nurturing place where little ones can play and grow while families worship with peace of mind.

Helping Our Neighbors After the Tornado

The tornadoes and severe storms that struck our Fox Cities communities on Monday, July 27th, have left many of our neighbors facing the difficult work of cleanup and recovery. As a congregation, we want to respond in the spirit of Christ by caring for our neighbors and offering practical assistance where it is most needed.

We have been in contact with local recovery efforts and are working to organize a First United Presbyterian Church response. One way we hope to help is by gathering and transporting needed supplies to the appropriate volunteer and recovery center.

Some of the supplies currently identified as helpful include:

• Target gift cards
• Walmart gift cards
• Kwik Trip gas cards for generators
• School supplies
• Large storage containers with lids
• Other specifically requested recovery supplies as needs develop

Most importantly, let us continue to pray for those whose homes, businesses, and livelihoods have been affected. Recovery will take time, and our neighbors will need our support long after the immediate crisis has passed.

As Paul reminds us, “Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2

Donations will be collected until Sunday, August 23rd. Please leave any gift cards in the box at the welcome desk and any "bigger" items in the Narthex Area. Thank you!!

Christmas Store Follow Up...

Our Christmas in July Donation Drive beautifully reflected the generosity and compassion of our church family.

Summer Book Group:

Our Summer Book Group continues with Rod Dreher's thought-provoking book, The Benedict Option: A Strategy for Christians in a Post-Christian Nation. Together, we'll explore Dreher's challenge to Christians to cultivate faithful communities, deepen our spiritual lives, and live out our Christian convictions in a rapidly changing culture.

Whether you agree with Dreher's conclusions or find yourself questioning them the book offers plenty of important ideas for conversation and reflection.

Come join us for a lively discussion, thoughtful conversation, and good fellowship! You do not need to have read the entire book to participate.

Agape Drive Thru Dinner

Last night was our monthly Agape Drive-Thru meal. We served 75 meals. Thanks to our many volunteers, it made the night a huge success!! Looking forward to next month. Our next meal will be Wednesday, September 2nd. See you there!!

One August 10 & 24, our FUPC Presbyterian Pantry volunteers will be filling grocery bags with nonperishable food (First Presbyterian of Green Bay, Ashland Ave). Suggested item for filling pantry shelves is NON-PRE SWEETENED CEREAL.
