Our Vision Statement:

We are a welcoming community FIRST UNITED in proclaiming FAITH in Jesus Christ, sharing HOPE for the future, and inspiring LOVE of our neighbors.

Many Hands, One Mission

"Lord, thank You for calling each of us to serve. Help us use the gifts You have given us, working side by side with humility, patience, and love. Unite us as one body, each person doing their part so that Your church may grow stronger and reflect Christ to the world. May everything we build and every act of service point back to You. Amen."

Pastors In The Gathering Area

Our monthly Pastors in the Gathering Area event is TODAY, (10/1) at 10 am. Pastors Luke & Meggan will be available to meet with church friends and spend some time with you. This is a special time planned on the first Thursday of each month.

Dead Reformers Group

October 8, 1871: The Peshtigo Fire. One hundred and fifty-five years ago, in less than one hour, the bustling community of Peshtigo, Wisconsin was burned to the ground. Every building was turned to ash, the loss of life was monumental, the survival stories heart wrenching and the miracles numerous. Learn how the fire started, meet the people who lived in Peshtigo, who perished and who survived, who came to their aid, and what happened after the conflagration. Dawn Picard presents the story of the Peshtigo Fire at Dead Reformers on Tuesday, October 6th, at 7:00 pm at Badger State Brewing Company (990 Tony Canadeo Dr, Green Bay).

Breakfast at FUPC

This Sunday, there will be breakfast sandwiches before worship starting at 8:15 am. It will be a first come, first serve basis. We are asking it to be a free will offering.

Sunday Worship Plans

As we continue our stewardship series, "Building God's House Together," we'll explore how God has uniquely gifted each of us to serve. Through Nehemiah 3:28-32 and Ephesians 4:11-16, we'll see how God's people work together, each offering their gifts to build up the body of Christ. Our sermon, "Serving Side by Side," will remind us that there is a place for every person and every gift in God's work. We'll also gather around the Lord's Table on World Communion Sunday, celebrating that we are one body in Christ.

Nursery

Each Sunday the church Nursery is open and staffed with volunteers during worship.

Sunday School & Youth Group

All ages are welcome on Sunday mornings at 10:30 am for Sunday School and 6th-12th grade students are welcome to come back from 6-8 pm in the evenings for Youth Group. See you Sunday!

Youth Coffee Shop & Bake Sale

Following worship, join our Coffee Fellowship in the Family Life Center. You can also support our youth activities by visiting our monthly Youth Coffee Shop & Bake Sale in the Gathering Area. Also, if you love to bake and want to donate anything, please drop them off in the Gathering Area before worship. Please let Pastor Meggan or Scott McPherson know if you can help bake or help sell goodies.

Adult Sunday School: Worship and Witness

Following worship, we will gather at 10:30 am in the K-Lounge for a new series, "Worship and Witness." Each week, we will reflect on the themes and Scripture of our worship service and consider how what we hear and experience on Sunday can shape the way we live throughout the week. Worship does not end when we leave the sanctuary-it sends us into the world to live, serve, and bear witness to Christ. Come join the conversation, bring your questions, and discover how Sunday worship can make a difference in our everyday lives. All are welcome!

Stewardship Campaign

This Sunday, we enter Week 3 of our Stewardship Campaign with the theme, "Serving Side by Side." We'll reflect on how God has uniquely gifted each of us and how, when we share those gifts, our church community grows stronger and our ministries come to life.

Our four-week journey leads us to Commitment Sunday on October 11, when we will return our pledge cards as we invest in the future of First United. Be on the lookout for your pledge card arriving in your mailbox in a purple envelope! Please prayerfully consider how God is calling you to share your time, talents, and resources as we serve side by side and build God's house together.

Pastor's Book Club

Our next Pastor's Book Club gathering will be on Monday, October 26, at 6:30 pm in the K-Lounge. We'll be discussing Marilynne Robinson's acclaimed novel, Gilead, a deeply moving reflection on faith, family, memory, grace, and the ordinary holiness of everyday life.

Set in the fictional Iowa town of Gilead in 1956, the novel takes the form of a long letter written by the elderly Reverend John Ames to his young son. As Ames reflects on his life, his family, his ministry, and the people of his community, Robinson invites us to consider what it means to believe, to forgive, and to see God's grace in the midst of ordinary human life.

Whether you have read the book before or are discovering it for the first time, all are welcome to join the conversation!

Monday, October 26th - 6:30 pm - K-Lounge

Christ First "Movie & Mingle"

Christ First would like to invite us to join them Tuesday, October 27 at 1 pm, as they feature the movie "Courageous" in the Koinonia Lounge. "Courageous" is a 2011 Christian drama film directed by Alex Kendrick that follows four police officers and a day laborer who struggle with their roles and responsibilities as fathers and husbands.

Despite facing daily dangers on the streets of Georgia, these men realize they are falling short at home. After a profound personal tragedy strikes one of the families, the men are driven to reevaluate their priorities and make a formal, faith-based commitment-known as the "Resolution"-to lead, love, and support their families with integrity and responsibility.

Sounds like a great film!!! Hope to see you there!!
