We have an exciting conference planned complete with celebrations, awesome speakers, and networking with 150 passionate health care advocates from across the state.

The conference is September 21st, 2019 from 9am to 4pm CST at Saint Thomas Hospital West conference room located at 4220 Harding Pike, Nashville, TN 37205.

Gilbert Gonzales, PhD, MHA is an Assistant Professor of Medicine, Health & Society at Vanderbilt University.

Dr. Gonzales’ research examines how federal and state-level policies affect health and access to care in vulnerable populations. Much of his research has specifically examined health disparities for LGBTQ populations. His work has been widely published in medical journals as well as through media outlets such as CNN, Reuters, and U.S. News and World Report.

Dr. Gonzales will deliver the keynote at THCC's Annual Conference titled: "Health Equity Now: Steps for a Healthier and More Equitable Tennessee."
Tracey T. Stansberry, MSN, APN, AOCN is an Advanced Practice Nurse with over 17 years of experience providing care in the rural sector.

She acted as its Director of Clinical Services with Dr. Dirk Davidson until January 2019, when she began the PhD program in Nursing at UTK. Having personally experienced the 21 st Century’s decline in rural health services, Stansberry is focusing her doctoral studies on Rural Health Policy and Health Services Research.

David Plazas is the Opinion and Engagement Director for the USA TODAY NETWORK Tennessee and The Tennessean where he serves an editorial writer, opinion columnist, op-ed editor and an editorial board member.

He is an award-winning journalist who wrote a series on affordable housing, “The Costs of Growth in Nashville” (2017), and leads a statewide campaign, “Civility Tennessee” (starting in 2018), to encourage, promote and practice civil discourse.

At THCC's Annual Conference , David will speak on "Getting Your Message Heard in a Noisy Environment."
