AC4C 6th Annual Prevention Conference was a Success

The AC4C Prevention Conference was held on November 7 at the Midwest Counterdrug Training Center (MCTC).  The theme was “Empowering Prevention”. Over 130 adults and youth were in attendance. A Resource Fair was held before and during the conference with over a dozen agencies represented (see pictures of a few of them below). The keynote speaker was Melissa Moore from M3 Consulting. Various workshops on substance use prevention-related topics were held throughout the day.

There was also a specific track for the youth, where they talked about mental health, marijuana, and heard from Melissa about “Finding their Superpower”. The youth and adults were together again at the end of the conference where the youth shared the highlights of the day and had an informative question and answer session with the adults asking about the trends they are seeing and what they think would work to reach their peers. The evaluations from the event have been very positive overall.
